A fund-raising quiz will be run in the Cove Bar on behalf of our club on 28th September. The entry fee is €20 for a team of four and the starting time is 8 pm. There will also be a raffle with lots of prizes.
It became clear at our recent AGM that increasing operating costs, the escalating cost of insurance in particular, mean that more successful and more frequent fund-raising is now unavoidable. The probable renovation of the belfry at The Brasscock would bring about an even more challenging environment. Our club very much needs all members to support our fund-raisers. Of course we would be delighted to have the support of former members and friends of the club also.
The immediate task is to make a success of the quiz on 28th. We strongly appeal for your help in ensuring a big attendance at this function and we look forward to an enjoyable evening. Thank you.
A very well-attended AGM took place last night where chairperson Barry Cantwell gave a wide-ranging assessment of the club including references to structure, financing, membership, and the club premises. It was agreed to hold an EGM very soon to consider proposals for change.
